Atelier MKD has created a soft and intimate interior space in an apartment building on Paris' glamorous Henri-Martin Boulevard, a stone's throw from the Eiffel Tower.

The brief for the project was simple: to create a modern and functional interior that capitalizes on the apartment's location and Art Deco style. The interiors are typical of Parisian apartments: high ceilings, chevron floors and windows opening onto balconies, while the living spaces reflect the soft and intimate atmosphere of the residence. The design team worked to preserve and enhance these features in order to continue to maintain the connection between the modern spaces and the architecture of the past.

The curves used throughout the project echo the softer atmosphere of the space, such as the curved stucco walls that subtly divide the living and dining areas, expressing the curvilinear language of the interior. The trees surrounding the apartment building bring a beautiful dappled light into the interior, which inspired the material palette of the space. Neutral fabrics, warm woods and light-colored stone create a soft and intimate atmosphere in the apartment.

整个项目所采用的曲线与空间的柔和氛围相呼应，例如巧妙分割起居区域和用餐区域的弧形粉刷墙壁，将室内的曲线语言表现得淋漓尽致。公寓建筑周围的树木为室内带来了美丽的斑驳光线，这也是空间的材料色调灵感来源。中性面料、暖色木材和浅色石材，为公寓营造出柔和亲切的氛围。

The timber texture is another thread that runs throughout the project, which can be noticed in the minimalist kitchen. The design team not only capitalized on the apartment's location, but also drew on its Art Deco origins, with many of the details in the space - especially the joinery - deliberately paying homage to this iconic style. However, rather than approaching the style in a typically maximalist manner, the design team chose to use it to a minimum to ensure that the space maintains a gentle ambiance.

木材质是贯穿整个项目的另一条主线，从简约的厨房中就能发现这一点。设计团队不仅利用了公寓的地理位置，还借鉴了其装饰艺术风格的起源，空间内的许多细节 —— 尤其是细木工制品，都刻意向这一标志性风格致敬。但是，设计团队并没有以典型的极致主义方式来处理这种风格，而是选择将其运用到最小程度，以确保空间保持温和的氛围。

The interiors are characterized by typical Parisian apartments, including spacious windows that open onto balconies. Despite the apartment's location in the city, it still offers many moments of quiet solitude for those who live here.
