Spoken Lines -- 9 new styles in 5 fresh shades.

Spoken Lines —— 9

Colin King collaborated with Beni Rugs to create Spoken Lines in Puglia's enchanting Palazzo Daniel, interpreting rationalist architecture and Milanese mosaics through the lens of Morocco's hand-woven tradition.

Drawing inspiration from mosaic-encrusted Italian entranceways and Piero Portaluppi's iconic architecture, the nine new styles take a natural approach to design and are available in a sophisticated palette of natural, olive, slate, blonde, cobblestone and linen.

These designs push the boundaries of Moroccan carpet making, with the core centred on framing spaces centred on the concept of framing spaces through different border designs.

Colin King says, ‘Attention to detail, meticulousness and spatial awareness permeate my work’. It's as if Colin King has made an unspoken commitment to the forgotten corners of his home and hopes to turn them into places worthy of our attention through design.

Colin King is not only the go-to styling director and art director for many of the world's leading brands and publications, but is also a regular contributor to Architectural Digest, T, Ark and Rum Magazine.

Colin King regularly collaborates with West Elm, Anthropologie, Zara Home, Crate & Barrel and Roman and Williams Guild and has his own prestigious lines with Beni Rugs and Menu, with more in development.

Combining ancient carpet-making techniques with a modern design perspective, the company is spreading the ‘magic’ of Moroccan carpets.

Beni Rugs was founded to change the way people buy rugs. By combining tradition with modernity, the time-honoured art of rug making has evolved, while introducing endless customisation options in the form of colours, sizes and designs.

Beni Rugs

Inspired by the natural materials, architecture, artistic expression and colours and shapes of Morocco, the aim is to blend ancient and modern rugs.

The design draws from many sources, including natural forms, abstract paintings, mosaic entryways, and views of the Atlas Mountains. In addition, Beni Rugs has collaborated with many thought leaders in the design field to push the boundaries of Moroccan weaving traditions.
