The four-bedroom apartment is located in a Victorian mansion block adjacent to Hyde Park in London, U.K. At the outset, Tala Fustok Studio's designers planned to draw inspiration from the homeowner's travels through Europe and North Africa.

The apartment's interior design skillfully blends subtle and rich color palettes and creates a sophisticated and intriguing spatial atmosphere. The textured materials and bold design expressions of the space's hard architecture, illuminated by natural light, like as a backdrop for artwork, vintage furniture and minimalist furnishings, contribute to the overall serene atmosphere of the space.

The design team at Tala Fustok Studio, led by founder Tala Fustok, made significant adjustments to the structural engineering of the entire space in order to expand the living room and dining room areas and combine two bedrooms into a spacious master suite and dressing room.

The space exudes a subtle luxury everywhere and showcases the design team's carefully curated collection of contemporary artwork from around the city - such as vintage Venetian mirrors, woven chairs and antique mirrored niches, as well as unique vases from M.A.H Gallery and Flow Gallery as space highlights.

The dining room features a striking accent from Vessel Gallery -- a painted brick fireplace and a vintage 1970s Italian travertine table. The adjoining kitchen is connected by double arches, with wood cabinets and brass accents maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. A curved wall between the kitchen and living room houses integrated shelving, while soft lighting creates a dynamic room “divider” in the space.

The master bedroom has a custom 1960s-style pink velvet bed with Larusi and Society Limonta linens. Tapestries from Schmid McDonagh Gallery adorn the walls above the bed, while an earthy stone fireplace and a custom mirror by Christophe Gaignon add to the room's natural beauty. And in the adjacent powder room, which also features a pink Kast concrete washbasin and vintage mirror from Lillie Road, London. The open dressing area is illuminated by a fabric chandelier from PINCH and “hovers” above a custom leather and plywood island. The master suite opens to a Moroccan-inspired bathroom with a custom travertine sink, Watermark faucet and zellige Moroccan tile in the shower.

The design team created a rich palette of subtle tones and a balanced palette of deep, sensible hues for Palace Gate II, giving the apartment a hint of gentleness and intrigue, layers of texture, and an interplay of light and shadow within the space that enhances the calming power of this soothing haven.
