The residential building, whose client is J Balvin, Colombia's best-selling superstar artist with over 35 million records, was designed by Daniel Correa, María José Fernández and Elisa Ortega of Medellín-based architecture and design studio 5 sólidos. The spatial atmosphere of Casa Aire is very quiet for a house of a well-known personality. The living room flows into a half-covered terrace through a small circulation area, while glass doors evoke the illusion of depth between the outdoor and indoor spaces.

The bedrooms are to the right of the entire space, connected by a large deck with outdoor living space, dining area, swimming pool and elevated basketball court.

Each bedroom becomes an extension of the rest of the house, each with the same blend of understated elegance and playfulness,’ say Daniel Correa, María José Fernández and Elisa Ortega. The master bedroom is also a fitness haven, with a small vertical space that connects to a small gym and spa.’

The colour contrast of the space disrupts the smooth, structured architectural elements and echoes the organic surroundings.

Natural light from outside the space diffuses through into the space, connecting the spaces like a fog and penetrating every corner. For the design team, there were no rules when it came to lighting the space - functional and ambient lighting were used in equal measure with the aim of creating unexpected colour contrasts and transforming the home's sense of ambience through lighting at night.

Standing in parts of the space can be noticed - the home feels like it blends into the forest, with the dining area being a prime example, and a view of the bonsai at the entrance.

The furnishings in the space, the moss and daisy tones, and the stone finishes look as if they have been transformed from the surrounding landscape. With nature and the residential space so close, there is no doubt that the home is a sensory haven.
