ET-texture Tile Foshan Showroom occupies an area of 300 square metres with a floor space of 600 square metres.

ET · 质感砖佛山总部展厅占地300平方米,建筑面积600平方米。

In order to have an independent and spiritual showroom, the owner chose to build a brand new showroom with an integrated expression from the architecture to the interior space, which also led the designer to try to explore the collaboration between the Eastern philosophy of ‘emptiness’ and the natural ‘light’.

为了拥有一个独立的精神性展厅,业主选择了建造一个全新的展厅,从建筑到室内空间的一体化表达,这也引导设计师尝试探索东方哲学中“空”与自然“光”的协作。

The design team wanted to give meaning to the emptiness of the building and the space, focusing on the blankness and silence, creating a real, natural and powerful spiritual field.

设计团队希望赋予建筑与空间虚空意义,关注其中的空白和静寂,创造一个真实、自然、有力量的精神场域。

The designers created an art gallery in the exhibition hall from the cavity generated by the building, and the exhibits in this gallery are only one thing - ‘light’, so it is named as the Art Museum of Light.

设计师由建筑生成的空腔打造成展厅中的美术馆,这个美术馆的展品只有一样东西——“光”,因此被命名为光之美术馆。

This small gallery in the exhibition hall displays the ‘light’ of Foshan throughout the year, the rotation of the sun and the moon, symbolising time; endless and unending.

这个展厅内的小小美术馆展陈了佛山一年四季的“光”,日月轮换,象征着时间;无休无止,生生不息。

The initial survey revealed that the base is surrounded by three huge exhibition halls, a sense of oppression that is suffocating.

初次勘查发现,基地被三座巨大的展厅建筑所包围,这种压迫感让人窒息。

Faced with the disparity in volume, the designer decided to use an independent fortress closed on all sides as a strong and powerful position to cope with the force of the surrounding buildings and dissipate the oppressive feeling of the surrounding buildings.

面对体量上的悬殊,设计师决定用一个四面封闭的独立堡垒作为强而有力的阵地来应对周围建筑的作用力,消解周围建筑的压迫感。

The windows of the building correspond to the outdoor green landscape, as the window of interaction between inside and outside of the building, inspired by the empty window frames of Chinese gardens.

建筑的开窗与室外的绿化景观相对应,作为建筑内外交互的窗口,灵感则来自于中式园林的空窗框景。

The designers decided to use the cracks created during the extrusion process to create a new space again, as a response from the interior of the building to the surrounding environment outside the building, which is a continuous process of splitting and growing, linking to the never-ending cycle of life in nature.

设计师决定利用体块挤压过程中产生的裂缝,再次创造一个新的空间,作为建筑内部对建筑外部周边环境的回应,这是一个不断分裂和生长的过程,链接了大自然的永不间断的生命轮回。

The new space generated by the fissure smoothly introduces the sky light into the interior of the building, and the light and shadow of the building and the nature interpret millions of changes, injecting spiritual vitality and interest into this independent fortress closed on all sides. When ‘light’ is introduced, it becomes the soul that nature gives to the space.

由裂痕生成的新空间顺利地将天光引入建筑内部,建筑与自然界的光影演绎出千万种变化,为这个四面封闭的独立堡垒注入了精神活力与趣味。当 "光 "被引入时,它就成了大自然赋予空间的灵魂。

The interior has been pre-designed as a series of spaces unfolding along the axis to create a cosy and serene atmosphere that opens up the limited space while having relatively independent areas.

室内被预先设计成一系列沿轴线展开的空间,以创造一个舒适和宁静的氛围,使有限的空间更加开放,同时拥有相对独立的区域。

The quiet environment is more conducive to the flow of consciousness. The designers have used a native and rugged approach to create an architectural exterior that narrates the brand's pursuit of ‘natural, rustic and authentic’ product quality, waiting to be explored and interpreted by the audience.

静谧的环境更有助于意识的流动,设计师用原生粗野的方式打造建筑外观,叙述了品牌对 "自然、质朴、真实 "的产品品质的追求,等待着观众去探索和解读。

The designer's spatial design is influenced by the ‘Art of Object’, which emphasises avoiding as much as possible the traces of excessive artificial treatment, and revealing the way of existence of the natural world through the expression of simplification, thus guiding people to reconnect with the world, and thus expresses the way of perception of oriental philosophy and Japanese Zen Buddhism.

设计师的空间设计受到 “物派艺术”的影响,强调尽可能避免过度人工处理的痕迹,通过化繁为简的表达方式揭示自然世界的存在方式,从而引导人们重新认识世界,以此表现东方哲学和日本禅宗的感知方式。

Through the light filtered through the windows layer by layer, at the end of the first floor of the showroom, the designer has set up a light-filled terrace garden. The tiles on the floor of the terrace extend from indoor to outdoor, emphasising the continuity of the space and echoing the anti-slip coefficient of the ET products.

穿过一层一层经过窗户过滤的光,在展厅二楼的尽头,设计师设置了一个光线充裕露台花园,露台地面的瓷砖从室内延伸至室外,强调了空间的连续性,同时呼应ET产品的防滑系数。
