This material choice transcends aesthetics, signaling a return to breathable, time-responsive, and human-centric elements. TJIP developed a bespoke rammed earth technique specifically for this project, creating a tactile dialogue between historical and modern building traditions.

"Originally conceived as an occasional event space, our redesign transformed this unfinished shell into a secondary living area for a family of five," explained the designers.

Today, the family gathers here every weekend around the central fireplace – functioning as both a winter hearth and year-round barbecue. The primal flames interact with an earthy palette and natural materials, while custom rammed earth walls, soft textiles, filtered daylight, and the client’s favored green accents weave a chiaroscuro narrative across eras.
